What began as a simple desire to help animals in need has grown into something truly meaningful. True Natured Rescue Inc. was founded on the belief that we all have a responsibility to make a positive impact in our communities and to advocate for animals who cannot advocate for themselves.
Our journey began with a surrendered litter of puppies and a commitment to give them a safe future. What started as a single act of compassion quickly revealed the overwhelming need for rescue, education, and sanctuary services throughout our region. As we became more involved in animal welfare, it became clear that countless dogs, horses, and other animals needed a second chance.
Since our founding in 2021, we have been honored to serve the Paso Robles community and beyond through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary efforts. Every animal we help is a reminder of why this work matters and why we remain dedicated to growing our impact.

At True Natured Rescue Inc., we believe every animal deserves more than just a second chance—they deserve to feel safe, valued, and understood. While many of the animals that come into our care are facing euthanasia, neglect, abandonment, or other difficult circumstances, we see each one as an individual with unique needs, personalities, and potential.
Our organization is built on a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to rehabilitation and animal welfare. Through years of experience working with both people and animals, we have learned that healing happens when individuals feel safe, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive at their own pace. We apply that same philosophy to every animal who enters our care.
Our mission extends beyond simply saving lives. While we are committed to rescuing animals at risk, we are equally dedicated to helping them find lasting success. Whether they are dogs, horses, or other animals in need, each receives individualized care, medical attention, rehabilitation, enrichment, and the time necessary to heal and grow.
We view adoption as more than a placement—it is a lifelong match. By taking the time to understand both the animals in our care and the families interested in adopting them, we strive to create successful, lasting relationships that benefit everyone involved. For animals who are not candidates for adoption, we are committed to providing sanctuary, safety, and dignity for the rest of their lives.
